Nicholas, Waldo and Miss Muffin

I grew up with dogs, but had only had cats as an adult. In fact, I had a reputation as the "cat lady". Then I saw a TV show with a yard full of Pugs running around and I was smitten. They were so cute and funny and friendly. One day I happened to park next to a car that had a giant stuffed Pug in the passenger's seat. Of course, I had to find out who was driving that car! It turned out to be Vicki, and she invited me to one of the Prairie Pugs parties. My husband and I went and actually met some Pugs and Pug People. We found out how fun those little guys are in person! Then we met Waldo. It took us a long time, but we slowly assimilated him into our two-elderly-cat household. We have become involved in rescuing and helping to foster these wonderful little guys through Prairie Pugs. And, like everyone else in the group who helps foster, we got attached to and adopted our first foster, Nicholas. Pugs are the most affectionate, infuriating, hilarious, lovable, frustrating, wonderful little creatures you could ever meet. I don't ever expect to be without Pugs now, either. I hope I'll be known as the "cat and Pug lady". Plus, we have added the lovely Miss Muffin to make our family complete. - Stacy Lowe
