Dozer
I live in the Chicago area, and recently adopted Dozer, the world's most wonderful 2 year old boy pug. I was a bit nervous about adopting a dog I had never met, but it was love at first snort! Once I met the Dressler's I knew that they are intuitive and careful about placing their rescued pugs with the right owners. My daughter has a 15 month old pug, Chango, who stays with me 3-4 days each week, and Dozer is busy cleaning Chango's ears right now. They are like peas and carrots, as Forrest Gump would say, and like to snuggle in the bed-for-two that is under my desk right now. If you are thinking about getting a pug, please consider rescue. Dozer has had his meet-the-new-vet-physical, and he is in perfect health. He has an underbite that gives him a Tasmanian Devil smile...some would say it's not perfection...I say it gives him individuality and character! Not all rescues are perfect breed specimens, but neither are all puppies from breeders. However, their little puggy hearts are perfect and grateful and full of love for their new adoptive family members. Dozer has learned to sit, comes when called, is perfectly housebroken (which took Chango over a year!!!) and loves to give kisses and hugs, snuggling his head on my shoulder. Like all pugs, he follows me everywhere, and loves to share my bed. I can't say enough about Vicki and Dennis Dressler and the work that they are doing...they are extraordinary people. Rescued pugs receive the same loving, knowledgeable care in their home that their own puggies receive, and adoptive parents like me are treated like family members. God bless Vicki and Dennis Dressler...Prairie Pugs Rescue is truly a mission of love.
